Developmental Psychology and 9 Ways to Develop Yourself

Have you ever wondered how you became the person you are right now? Or, how others become who they are? Why children think and act the way they do or how, when they become adolescents, they think and act so differently? What do old people think about life and death?

I preface my groups on human development by saying that human development is an attempt to understand who and what we are and how we came to be that. Could there be a more exciting and interesting question to ask in understanding who you are and what human life is about?

Developmental psychology focuses on just those questions and many others. Such questions have been part of the human experience since humans could understand that the passage of time affects who they are, how they interact with others and where they might be headed in their life course.

Specifically, this is a field of inquiry. That is, people who study the way humans develop psychologically from birth to death. It was not always understood that adults went through common developmental stages too, it used to be thought that only young people developed. But that turned out to be wrong.

Put simply, it is the view that the human mind develops over time and that individuals will experience many changes throughout their lives.

Psychologists endeavor to comprehend and clarify how and why individuals change all through life. While a significant number of these progressions are ordinary and expected, they can in any case posture challenges that individuals in some cases require additional help to manage.

There are many stages involved in Development Psychology such as:

· Early Childhood: The period from the earliest stages through early childhood is a period of surprising development and change. Developmental psychologists take a gander at things, for example, the physical, subjective, and passionate development that happens amid this basic theme of development. Notwithstanding giving mediation to potential developmental issues now, psychologists are additionally centered around helping kids accomplish their maximum capacity.

· Middle Childhood: This time of development is set apart by both physical development and an expanded significance of social impacts as youngsters advance through primary school.

· Adolescence: The teenage years are regularly the subject of significant enthusiasm as youngsters experience the mental turmoil and move that frequently goes with this time of development.

Sometimes, the changes can be rapid and extensive such as from birth to puberty. There are many similar themes and patterns of the changes humans progress through over their lifespan. Developmental psychology focuses on these patterns of change and examines how they occur and why they occur. Piaget’s Stages of Cognitive Development are perhaps the best-known theory of developmental psychology.

I would imagine that research into developmental stages in various areas like cognition, social development, or physical development will continue for as long as we are asking the question: Who are we and what is human life is about?

In order to understand yourself, you must continue to examine yourself, develop, and grow every day. Practice discipline and challenge yourself to accomplish new heights.

A wise person said the significance of people is not what they become, it lies in what they long to become.

1. Do not be a slave of your desires. Never act according to your impulses (reactions and emotions will betray you! — [Enter Star Wars joke]) and whims. Whims and desires lead you to bad habits, immoral and immodest deeds. Do what benefits you and live a moral life.

2. Be Obedient to your parents and respect them. Always keep in mind the sacrifices they made for you.

3. Early to bed and Early to rise… You know the rest. Fix a time of sleeping and waking up.

4. Exercise daily. At least an hour. It helps you rejuvenate and makes you resilient. Stay fit and healthy

5. Always have a positive mindset. Let the negative thoughts pass away like the clouds pass away in the sky. Do not let your past and future ruin your present day. You can’t change what has passed and the future is not in your hands.

6. Eat healthy food. Your body needs a certain amount of proteins, vitamins and minerals. Make a diet chart. Eat and live healthy.

7. Work in the field in which you love. Highly SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE all have this in common.

8. Read books. Books contain advice and experiences of people through their life struggle. Take those advices and knowledge for free without struggle by reading. It’s better to learn the process of building wealth versus being handed a million dollars.

9. Learn saving and investing money. From your monthly income save 20 percent and limit your expenses and desires to 80 percent only. Invest that money. Again invest the profit with principal and again invest the profit from it. Make money a slave that works for you; stop working for the dollar. You cannot live a better life if you are not financially strong.
